Introducing Paul Winrow: Our new Branch Director at Retford
We’re excited to welcome Paul to our team who has joined us from Aon where he was Client Management Director and Head of Office. Paul has a well-established insurance career path and brings over 22 years of experience in the industry.

Paul shares his hopes for the industry, the role he’ll be playing within our business, and an interesting fact: he once got paid to play cricket!
Welcome to PIB Paul, what are you most looking forward to?
The insurance industry thrives on strong relationships, so getting to know the team in Retford and meeting my new colleagues from across the business.
What are your hopes for the industry?
We need to continue making technological advancements and process efficiencies, but this has to be implemented at the right pace, without compromising our client focus ensuring our clients are always at the forefront of what we do
What drives you to succeed?
Quite simply, to do a good job, whether that is for a client or for our business.
Have you had an unusual job?
Getting paid to play cricket for over 20 years. Not really a job but getting paid for something you love doing was amazing. I played up to under-19 with Yorkshire and then 2nd team level with Lancashire, where I realised I wasn’t just good enough to play professionally. I subsequently, played for various teams in the Bradford League, Huddersfield League and Central Lancashire League.
What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
Probably everything that my dad has told me over the years. I didn’t listen when I was younger but now look back and realise, he was generally right.
How do you measure success?
Watching those who I have helped in their own career journey, develop, achieve and become successful.
Tell us about life outside work.
Most of my time is spent with my family - my wife, Caroline and our 3 children (Holly, Joshua and Alice). I still try and play cricket in the summer, and I also endure Huddersfield Town as a season ticket holder!
